POINT LOBOS, CA (08.09) - B&W & COLOR
This was my third trip to Point Lobos - I just think it's one of the most beautiful places on God's Earth. We made several trips in a couple of days. One day was really foggy which adds alot of depth and mystery, as well as letting just the right amount of light in to create some pretty awesome shots. For these B&Ws I used my usual 400 TMAX and hand held at 1/30th of a second. The color ones were easy.

Twisted Cypress
I hope this makes you feel as though you're 'there'.
Lithograph Cypress
This particular cypress gives the look of a lithograph or even an etching. It reminds me of lithographs in a book I saw when I was a child. It left a big impression.
Medusa Cypress
Here the sun was trying to break thru the fog, but didn't make it at all. However, it shed more light on this awesome dead and bleached cypress.
Very Similar
My husband and I bought an etching of this same view...and didn't realize it was of the same place we had been!
The Old Veteran
I LOVE THIS TREE! I could go back and take pictures all day long. This visit I was able to capture it blanketed in fog.
View of a cove
There is beauty everywhere on this point, including this view of a secluded cove.
Moss and Lichen
These were beauties made by nature.
Closeup
You can't help but marvel at nature's work.
Cypress in the Mist
You've heard of Gorillas in the Mist......well this is a different jungle and this just happens to be my ABSOLUTE fav!!
Misty Inlet
I captured this shot through a grove of cypress.
Old Veteran in Color
Here's my baby! It will be a very sad day if this cypress ever falls into the ocean.
Cypress on the Point
A young cypress caught at sunset.
Point Lobos Shoreline
Hope you enjoyed these as much as I loved capturing them on film.
